The Story
Passionate worshiper · obedient servant · loving fatherLucas Maloma's journey began more than a decade ago in the village of Strydkraal, Ga Masha in Sekhukhune, Limpopo — singing at weddings, churches and schools, and using his first earnings to support his mother after his father passed away in 1984.
Music opened doors that circumstance had closed. When outstanding fees threatened his studies at the University of Limpopo, a couple he had sung for settled the debt — and Lucas graduated with his B.Com in 2005. He never forgot what a song can do.
Today Lucas is one of the most sought-after gospel acts in the country — known for electric stage presence, Sepedi hymns reborn with a live band, and albums recorded live at the State Theatre and Atterbury Theatre. He has graced Gospel Gold, the Mapungubwe Music Festival, Thobela FM and Tshwane FM, while serving as a husband, a father of two, and a Deputy Director in the Gauteng Provincial Government.
